Default Airflow on hand grips of 2016 Road Glide Ultra

I am thinking about trading in my 2014 Ultra Limited for a 2016 Road Glide Ultra. The batwing fairing on the UL keeps the air flow from hitting the hand grips. I have not ridden a RGU so I'm trying to find out if the sharknose fairing protects the handgrips the same way. It looks to me that it would not because the grips sit up higher and further back. If you look at the bike from the front it looks like the grips would sit right in the airflow.

I have an issue with my fingers and they get very cold so I want to keep the airflow away from them. The UL also has heated grips (plus I have all the heated gear from HD).

So if anyone has ridden the 2016 (Rushmore) Road Glide Ultra and can answer, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks!
Mike

My hands have poor circulation & get cold easily. I've had 2 road glide specials with heated grips & found i could ride with medium weight gloves & be ok. I've ridden into the low 30's. I just traded my 17 for a 16 RGU & had the heated grips installed. I haven't ridden it yet but the hand position doesn't feel that much higher. I wouldn't expect a problem.

If I get the RGU I will install the heated grips also. Please let me know if the airflow hits the grips after you ride it. Airflow doesn't hit my hands on the UL until I move them 6" toward the outside. Thanks!

16 RGU.
I feel like I get considerably more wind on my hands than I did with my batwing fairing.

I have heated grips on my 16 RGU and the tips of my fingers and thumbs are the first to get cold after about a half hour of riding below 40 degrees.

Gentlemen, thank you! I anticipated the last 3 answers but wanted rider verification. You have been a great help!
