They posted the 2017 map updates on the Naviextras website if anyone is interested in purchasing the update.

I understand the frustration of Apple users. They (you) typically tend to be very devout, but the truth is, nearly all the world runs on something from Microsoft. Remember there are other operating systems out there too. Are Linux runners crying foul? The dip ***** at NaviExtras have chosen to base their updates on a OS that has the greatest reach, and that happens to be MS.
I'll bet they don't sell enough $150 updates to pay for writing a Mac version...

Interesting question. Can't wait to read the responses. Vin number will probably negate the free option.

Thanks, just cheked mine, and it is MY15, which makes sense. So has anyone had the dealer do it and what does it cost if done there?

So a couple questions for anyone who has done the navigation update.
1 I understand you first have to fingerprint your bike, did you fingerprint your bike and then download the update on the same USB?
2 What size USB is needed?
3 When you download the file do you need to unzip it ?
Any suggestions to make this process smooth?

I'm following this thread because I'm tempted to buy the update if the maps are really current. My '14 came with maps that IIRC were from 2012. The new updates hides this info and they now only say NA-MY2014. If the maps are really somewhat current, it may be worth the money.
I can't wait for bikes to support something like Android Auto. Hell, even garmin would be better. My new ridgeline comes garmin install and I get something like 3 years of free updates. With Android Auto or Apple Car Play, you'll never need an update. The maps come directly from Google/Apple.

How do you fingerprint the bike? The wife and I each ride our own and would be much nice to purchase once...but if its is tied to the VIN, well...it is what it is...
