Trick to the headsets?
I plugged in my flash drive and I can hear music through the speakers. Went into settings and tried to switch to headset, but nothing. These are factory wired, front back. Does the bike have to be running? I didn't want to start it up at 5 AM, but seems like it should work regardless.

Bike doe not have to be running - but, you may need to turn the vol up once you change it to the headset.
Also remember to do the same thing when you use the intercom - they are separate functions.
So, switch to the headset and then use the up flipper to increase the vol. Let me know if this works OK.

I listen to the music on my USB drive all the time- thru the speakers when I ride solo, and thru the Headset when Mrs. Brewmany is on back.
Go into your setup- you have three categories you can set to play thru the speakers or the headset-
Home > Setup > Speaker/Headset
a.music/media- this is what you need to set to hear the music on your USB drive- click speakers or headset, and adjust volume.
Make sure the plug is securely in place. If it is, you should be able to hear the music play thru the headset.

Just to reiterate, there are several volume settings; there are settings for music, communications and prompts. Each of these also has a separate setting for speaker, or headset (front and rear).
Take some time to play with your system and get familiar with it. There are quite a few features that are nice, but not until you understand them.

It gets crazy at times as each function has a separate volume control. Say you are listening to the radio your partner keys the intercom. You caint hear her so you try to turn up the volume... but she has let go of the mic button so you turn the radio up instead of the intercom. Then she keys the mic to tell you to turn the radio down and you cain't cause the mic is keyed and you are turning her down... So when the gps cues up... you can turn it up or down only while it's cued up... and so on and so forth...

Agree, go through the book and play with all the settings. I know before we take off on a trip, we go out and test volume, VOX, etc., before we are moving. I tried it while riding and became one of those distracted people. (and she yelled at me)
You will notice the ICONS at the bottom of your screen when functions are active and in use.
It is really simple...Lots of new things to learn....

Yes, I've got one set that I have to press the helmet plug very hard to get a good connection. I suppose the friction fit is for safety, you don't want your head staying behind if you're thrown from the bike, but some kind of positive feedback, like a click in connection would be nice. Such are the problems we have to live with. It's rough. lol
