Fob dead even with new battery
Just like the title says. One fob stopped working even with a new battery. Other fob still works fine. Any ideas before I return it?
Thanks

Check the battery polarity, I double checked and still got it wrong, worked fine after I flipped it.

Yes, I should have mentioned that was the first thing I checked. Appreciate your input though.

If you have not done so, try putting the battery from the working fob into the non working one, in the rare event you got a bad new battery.

No luck. Swapped batteries with a known good one. Double and triple checked polarity. Looks like it's going back.
Do they need the bike? It's raining like hell around here.

Solved....who knew there were different types of batteries. Fob needs a CR2032 and I was trying to replace it with a CR2025.
They are both the same size and appear identical.
Live and learn.

Well I'm glad you solved the mystery and for just the price of a battery

Interesting - you mentioned earlier that you swapped the battery with a know good one. Someone had suggested you use the battery from the working one. Is that not what you did?

Glad you got to the bottom of the problem..
My FOB has the CR2032 in it as well with differences being:
CR2032 - .79" Dia x .13" Height, 3 Volts, 230 ma-Hrs (Longer life)
CR2025 - .79" Dia x .1" Height, 3 Volts, 165 ma-Hrs (Shorter life)
So the shorter battery(CR2025) prolly wasn't making contact inside the FOB...
