I believe most people under-inflate their tires. I got 20K out of the OEM Dunlops. Now running Mich Comm II's inflated to 42psi f/r. I've never got less than 20K out of any set of touring tires.
Do the Michelin CII's recommend 42 psi in the front? Or is that what you put in it?
Boy, at that pressure, you could probably run over a dime and tell if it was heads or tails.

Actually that was a typo. I run 41psi - which is the max cold tire rating.
18k on the rear of RGS & 25k on the front. This is consistent with another Touring model I had. Probably could get a few k more, but because of the rain we get in the summer, I change about 2-3k early. My Fat Boy ate up rear tires at around 8k. Mostly ride solo.
Replaced the rear at 17K after it blew and I'll be changing my front at 22K tomorrow. I'm thinking I was doing good until I started reading some other posts. I'm impressed!
I got around 20k out of my original Dunlops. The rear started cupping, the front was just fine, but I replaced them both. I put the same OEM's on mine again.
