Default rushmore problems ?

i run into a friend yesterday that i havn't seen in about four years. he traded his 08 heritage with 98,000 trouble free miles on it for a new 14 limited. his limited now has 39,000 on it. he was telling me of some problems he's had with it and i told him i would ask about them on here. radio problems from the get go and they are fixed now, vent in fairing is broken and just stays closed now, right vent in lower fairing is stuck and will not close, left rear saddle bag top will not close correctly. he had some propblems with the controls on the handle bars also. nothing with the engine or trans. he is about to run out of extended warrenty and is going to get everything fixed before hand. i think he was a little pissed at the quailty of these parts. he rides this thing and will have 100,000 on before you know it. anyone else seeing problem of these kinds on their bikes ? THANKS !

The vent can usually be put back in it's place, easy, Handle bar controls is a known issue also, mine was fixed free cuz of a known issue, Other than that, i had water pump replaced, and radio seems to have glitches, but nothing major

I had my vent replaced because it wouldn't stop rattling rear master cylinder rebuilt because return spring broke, I have to use two hands to close left saddle bag lid, I guess it's been opened and closed so many times but the other side is fine. 53000 miles and still keeps me smiling. Why some people have issues and others don't??

I have a faulty "clutch switch" which is being fixed under warranty when I take it in next week for service. I also have a 'rattle' or 'clacking' sound in what seems to be the front cylinder head when idling (950-1100 RPM). I am going to mention that too as I want to make sure it's covered under warranty too!

I have 85K on my '14 Limited. Darn near zero issues (except for 3rd gear issues at 80K that ESP covered). Your friend can extend the ESP further out for a fee.

No problems on mine other than a dropped saddlebag- recall took care of the replacement cost. Also recalled for a seal in the clutch master cylinder, and a brake line routing issue, neither of which impacted the operation of the bike. Radio/nav system works fine, other than some slightly buggy firmware. Mailslot (vent) opens and closes fine, that'd be an easy thing to fix, as I think the vents in the lowers would be as well, but they work fine for me. I am actually quite impressed with the overall quality of this bike.

32K on my 14 Limited. Had the recalls done and replaced the left fan at 30K. Other than that no issues.

The only problem I've had is my shifter shaft came out 900 miles away from home. That was at 19000 miles. Been problem free since. The vent on the fairing is 2 screws. The vent on the lower not closing means it fell out of its pivot point, not a big deal. Saddlebag probably needs an adjustment which is 4 torx screws...highly unlikely there's a "flaw" in manufacturing. All the parts you've mentioned are wear-parts. Open and close the bag, lower vent, mail slot...etc enough times you're going to eventually knock something out of whack.

Radio has been a bone of contention since the day it came out.

Road king Rushmore so no electrical gremlins. No problems thus far other than the gas cap spewing gas everywhere due to a faulty vent.
