I just bought and received two Premium Half Helmet Headsets. Part 76000730. The newest ones out. One problem the bottom half of the cord won't snap into the top half. So they don't work. Both of them are that way. I measured them with calipers and they made the female plastic end of the plug to small. And no way will they ever snap together. Looked nice, but won't work. Dam. Harley needs to get their head out of their A$$. Anyone else had this problem?

 

Tanker - which bike are you riding? Did it come with a headset.

My experience, the ones you got will kill your ears.

 

2015 Limited. I have those that it came with as well. The ones my bike came with go over you ears. I assume that's what you mean cycle 7447.The 76000730's are new this year. They don't go over your ears. But they apparently have a problem with the cord. Won't plug into each other. Plug into the bike fine, but the two cord half won't pop together.

 

NO Harley has to get out of China!!!!!

 

Tanker2 - I looked them up and from what I saw, they are the ones that fit over your head. We had those before and didn't like them

If you have a half helmet, the ones from Harley should go in those too. Wife has a 1/2 helmet

 

I have 3 of them total.
Two are the original design that was pulled for redesign of the neckband.
Third one is the newest release with the redesigned neckband.
All 3 plug together just fine, although it is a seemingly tight fit, it's designed that way so that it doesn't come unplugged while riding.

Need some gym time?

 

They must have some out that they got a bad plug on. The ones where I bought them are the same way. Just my luck. Correct on the get out of China.

 

OK guys. My bad. I got to messing with the headsets again and you really have to force the plugs together the first time. I mean really force them. After that they worked fine. And I liked the headset as well. Also the side tone is back with the latest update. 1.20.3

 

Hey guy's, I bought the 76000730 headset and am surprised how clear the audio is. (both ways) Ears had to adjust to the tightness but think it's probably necessary to keep them in place. My question for those that have this headset, when you talk either using CB or cell phone, do you hear yourself in the headset speakers? I do and I tried another "new" set from the dealer that did as well. It's not a problem, just a little strange till you get used to it.

 

It's normal. It's referred to as "side tone". It was missing from certain versions of the software updates, but has most recently been put back in.
