Default Added CVO Fender kit to 17 Limiited Remove License bracket?

I added the CVO fender and saddlebags to my 17 Limited with no problems and am very happy with the new look. Except for one problem, the stock license plate bracket is an integral part of the tour Pak framework. According to my dealer only way to remove this is to install the detachable tourpak mount.

I'm not wanting to go that route. My question is what is the opinions of all of you, do you think I can trim this down some and not hurt the strength of the mounting of the tourpak? Has anyone else done this and had this problem?

Last pic is after the plate backing was taken off thank goodness for that much but still have some left.

I would think you could trim that out without a problem. If you switch to the removable mount, it's not there.

I think i can cut some out without hurting the strength of it. Just enough so it doesn't look so bad

If I'm not mistaken doesn't that support most of the wieght of the pak? The removable bracket that holds the pak is a bigger plate then the bar from the factory. Why not just have it painted the same color as the rest of the bike, might not look that bad.

Yes that is what the dealer is saying that it supports the biggest share of the weight. He says not to trim it down. His suggestion was to install the detachable rack. I'm gonna go with it for a while and see what i think is the best way to go. I've come to this point and done things right so will figure it out

Looks nice.

Find a cool license plate to add there and enjoy.

The extended bags and CVO fender is nice. For sure the stock plate needs to go. Why not go with the remove able tour pack? I think all baggers should come with the extended bags.

Not sure if that plate bracket gives that much support. Been thinking of cutting mine off, just haven't gotten around to it.

I am also curious if anyone has done it too,

Totally agree they look so much better. Mine always looked like running down hill to the front with the stock bags. Lol
