Default Apes that don't block

I was thinking of adding KST 12" apes to my 16 sgs but I'm worried about keeping the usability of the stock mirrors. Will I be able to keep visibility with 12" bars?

I cant speak for the newer bikes but I had 12" Yaffe Monkey bars on my 09 street glide and could still use the stock mirrors. It took some adjusting to since you will be looking under the bars but it worked. I dont think your 16 would be any different.

I think a good rule is, you can use the stock mirrors if your hands are over the fairing. My 10" Yaffe bars put my hands even with the top of the fairing and I had to lose the stock mirrors.

I have 12" yaffe monkey bars on my 15 SGS. Although I can still view out my mirrors, it would be much better with 14" bars. I have heard numerous times that the yaffees run 2" taller than any other advertised apes. If this is the case, 12" KST bars would be the equivalent of 14" yaffees. I cant confirm or deny this info.

I think it's the other way drc270; 12 KST would be close to 10 Yaffee and so on.

Thanks for the clarification. Not sure why they add the confusion by not playing by the norm...

I've got 12.5 Wild 1's and couldn't use my stick mirrors. Not enough visible.

I see KST makes brackets that drop the mirrors. Anyone use them?

KST run shorter than Yaffe, so I doubt the KST 12 will work with stock mirror. A friend has 12 Yaffe and wishes he had 14, as he says its borderline to use the stock mirror with the 12's
