Default mono tubes

Has anybody installed mono tubes on there rushmore bike? I have a 2015 SG and I want to improve the front suspension for a better ride or does anybody have any other suggestions?

I just installed the Progressive monotubes on my Ultra Limited. I've only been able to take it for a short ride since the install but my first impressions are positive. The front end feels much more controlled with no tendency to wander like the stock setup did. Brake dive is much reduced. The ride is a bit firmer but in no way would I call it harsh. I purposely picked a route for the test ride that I knew had a lot of potholes and rough spots.

Now if I can get the 444s on the rear dialed in......

The link above is to a thread on this subject from a couple winters ago, and I put a couple of pictures in there of when I did mine.

I like the change, enough so that I gave the same treatment this winter to my street bob.

YMMV,

Shane

I just ordered some Ohlins forks for my new bike. I've had Progressive monos before and while ok, I know there's better stuff. Suspension is like so many things in life; you get what you pay for.

I too run the progressives on my 97 in sig, recently rode a 15 with legends mono tube setup. Both are a vast improvement over stock but two different bikes so I can't say which is better

When you say you went with -2 what does that mean?

I originally went with the progressive mono-tube, but switched them out for the Legend AXEO duel cartages - much better ride, no nose dive in the curves

I just installed the Progressive mono tubes. Lowered 1" maybe a bit more.

Yesterday was all Farm Road riding. No interstate at all. I've seen this front end described as "harsh" it's anything but harsh. Likely they've never driven a sport tuned suspension. It's not you grandma's old caddy. It's responsive and aggressive. Just how it should be. It reacts positively and without delay. I tried the front brake in a curve. (Very controlled test) lol. There was no cars around. I was not going to fast for the curve. I just want to see if it would change my direction. In the case it was a really controlled slow down. Followed my line the entire way through. Confidence in needed a panic stop or slowdown in a curve just went up. Not to the cocky level. But assured I can in a safer manner. Last thing I did was hit a side road by my house. 1/4 mile of washboard road. Ya. It sucked. But normally I'd get bounced in different directions. Here I followed my line in spite of the bashing the front end was taking.

I seen some guys complain about one leg being longer and the bike won't track straight. Not true if assembly is done as it should be. I set the cruise at 50 on a 2 lane and let go. Dead nuts on straight down the road. I could move it where I wanted with a simple lean. I don't think I'll ever have a bike without an upgraded front end.
