So do the bars fit exactly?

Mine did NOT, the way the inner fairing is shaped prevents the bars from sitting the indent made for them. The bars are not made for '14 fairings which have a different shape. Correct?

I was able to do this job without removing the ignition switch as well. The '14 models have a slot in the lower fairing cap that will allow you to slide it off without removing the ignition switch like all the previous ones I've done on earlier models.

Yes that's correct. They do not fit into the indents exactly. The base of the bars is wider than the stock bars. What that means is that you can't rotate the bars up fully into the indents. However, for me it worked out ok. I have them about a qtr inch from the fairing and they're just right for my reach. The HD website says they fit 14's but the catalog says they don't. The last time I talked to my dealer they said that bars for 14's were not out yet and that longer hydraulic lines would be needed. Used original lines and wiring on mine. The wiring is not an issue as there is plenty of extra wire.

Thumbs up

Great wright up! Do you think this would work the same for a 2014 Tri Glide Ultra? I'm also 5'8" Just road mine back from the dealer Sunday. 3 hours from my home low back issuses by the time I got home. To far of a reach. My last Road King had pulled back bars put on at the dealer when I bought it so no problem there. My dealer told me it would take between 8-9 hours to change!! What like $1000.00 for new bars installed??? I thought I must be missing something. Worked on alot of bikes in my time but never something with a bat wing on it. I think I'll give this a go myself.

You will not have a problem. You don't have to remove the whole wing. Just the front then lean the rest forward to do the job. Cover the front fender well and thick.

Think of other things you may want to do under there while you have it off. Like hot wire cig lighter so it works with bike off, tucking antenna away up under there, or windshield change.....

$155 for the bars and 3-4 hrs of your time. Don't give em $1,000
