I plan on cutting hole in header, remove cat, weld back. Anybody done this with header on bike?

Cutting out the back panel, gutting the cat and rewelding is the way to go. Too much chance on leaving a small part in that breaks off and goes into your engine

On my last bike I bought an oem already done off ebay for 125. Now then I had the original and the gutted one. Gave them to the new owner

Plenty of threads on this forum with differing opinions. I personally think its easier to cut out and reweld. I would have done it myself but liked the idea of keeping the orig pipe.

Too each his own, had I done it myself I would cut it out and reweld, It would take less then an hour and I know it would be out. Drilling it, not as fast

Once again until you try it.. It only took me 25 minutes. I had two to play with and figured I had nothing to lose if drilling didn't work. I have a welder to cut it open but I tried drilling first. It worked very well

Again that's good for you. The majority on the forum do not agree with that. Shall we keep disagreeing or move on
