knocking noise from primary
recently I've notice a whine while in first gear up to 2500rpm, but it goes away when I hit second or the bike is loud enough I don't hear it anymore. when I pulled in after a 5 mile ride, I hear a knocking noise when in neutral and the primary cover is hot. just rolled 3k on it. am I just hearing things

I read in another thread that you can get it to adjust by driving in 1st gear and accelerate quickly to about 4000 RPM, then let off the throttle quickly and let the RPMs drop back down to almost idle 1000-1500 then accelerate quickly again to 4000 RPM and back down. Repeat this 4 to 5 times to get the adjuster to ratchet to the next notch.
I have done this before and it seems to work. I experienced the primary knock or chain slap when I had about 1200 miles on mine. It's been good now.

That was my guess also... Chain is getting loose to the point the adjuster needs to rachet up one notch.
