I have twice but it would be easier to have a friend help you as it is a little tricky holding on to the fairing and trying to unplug the headlight at the same time. The fairing comes real close to the light brackets but it can be done.

+1
It only takes a couple of minutes to remove both sides, well worth the time.
Asked the same question when I was thinking about installing an XM module, was told by a poster who did it that yes, it can be done. He said put a couple of tube socks over the lights to minimize contact and also said the lamps make a perfect resting place for the fairing when you remove the headlight plug.

I always put socks over the lamps of my 2012 when I would remove the fairing. Good idea
