Default What mods first?

So I have my new 2014 Ultra Limited and have only added the pager alarm system to date. I'm not interested in upgrading the pipes. I like the sound and style just the way it is. I was looking at the Screaming Eagle Extream Air filter. What will that do for my bike? Also had some reservations because it comes with a rain cover. Does this mean I need to wrap that around the filter every drop of rain I run into? Also, what other upgrades would you guys recommend I consider first before anything else?

John

Comfort first... Then look into the rest. Backrest, apes, highway pegs, etc...

I second this. Highway pegs are probably are a good place to start.

Highway pegs, AC, de-cat the head pipe and a tuner to get that thing breathing right and cooled down. Stockpipessuck.com has an exchange program for head pipes.

I think an accessory charger in the tour pack is a good idea. 3M film for the saddlebags (Harley sells pre-cut pieces) can help avoid scratches if you take a passenger. Felt liners for the saddlebags and glove boxes are a nice touch. And of course the most important: an adjustable back rest.

Despite the overwhelming peer pressure you'll receive, you don't need to add pipes, cams, decatted headers or ape hangers. The stock 10" windshield is actually pretty good but many, including myself, will add a recurve shield. There seems to be a loyal following for LRS shields here but the Freedom Shield is the only one that is 3/16" thick and helps close the dreaded gap between shield and fairing.

I went for a Long ride shield as well. Great place to start.

Scott, do you think wind deflectors are of any benefit for his Ultra Limited that already has lower fairings?
