Default Dropping a New Rushmore Limited or Ultra

If the bike goes down (falls over) how much damage is sustained by the radiator lowers? Or to the rest of the bike for that matter.

My riding friend dropped his 14 limited and it got the corner of the lower fairing, no damage to the rear bags though.

The paint gets chipped along the edge of the lowers, and the engine guard and rear guard get road rash. Obviously replacing the guards is easy, but the chipped paint is a PITA. The way to guard against it is to buy one of the 58317-04 Inner Fairing Mouldings from a pre-Rushmore fairing. cut in half, it's exactly the right length to edge the lowers, and it looks good too. The stock adhesive on it is not good enough though - needs to be cleaned off and a contact adhesive carefully applied.

Mine went down last week, all the way over down to the handlebars. $1900 in damage. Engine guard scratched, lower fairing scratched, saddle bag guard scratched, jiffy stand damaged, floor board mount scratched, hand warmer heater control **** scratched, handle bars bent, highway peg scratched.

I laid mine down a month or so ago, when my left foot slid in the crusher run driveway... I LAID 900 lbs. down as slow as I could, once I knew the "Point of No Return" had been reached. Snapped the highway Peg adjustable bracket clean off, but no other damage.

I laid mine down today. Scratched the right engine guard, highway peg, the lower fairing, and the bottom back mount on the drivers floorboard. I am not a happy camper! I've only had the bike two weeks. I am guessing 500.00 damage. It's not that noticeable unless you are looking for it. So I will live with it.

My Ultra is the tippiest feeling dang bike I've ever ridden with a passenger aboard at slow speed.

I came off a gold wing. That was the tippiest bike with a passenger I had ever ridden. It's a learning curve, but I'm learning. Slow turns with a passenger is something else too.

I hear ya,this ultra feels way tippier than my road king did,the wife loves it though. And your right, slow turns with a passenger on these things will make you a little nervous.I've seen many good riders tip these 2 wheeled winnebagos over trying to maneuver at slow speed with a passenger.

Coming from a heritage classic I have to agree these bikes are very top heavy. I almost dropped mine last Saturday turning around in the drive. It was past that balance point but I guess with determination and some grunt I kept it up.
