Default How is 14 Road King for passenger

I'm shopping for a touring (comfortable) bike. I've been looking at the Gold Wing because of how large it's passenger accommodations are. But I really don't want a bike with a fairing. How is the passenger room on the 14 Road King? I don't like the feeling of being crowded by my passenger. Also would a seat from an Ultra be much different? My wife and I need the room.

Go to a dealer and sit on them. A lot of dealers are doing demo days this time of year as well. Another option, although it'll cost you, is to rent a couple for a full day. A few hundred dollars in rentals now may save you down the road. Your passenger will most likely prefer an ultra simply because of the back and arm rests, but you can always add a tourpack if need be. Just some food for thought.

I've sat on them and couldn't really tell. There is a demo at the dealer in the next town over from me tomorrow. I'll have to try to attend. Unfortunately my wife has been on the Gold Wing so it will be hard for something else to measure up in the passenger department.

wife loves to ride with me, no complaints on 500 mile days. We both love our RK. we did get an adj back rest for her, leans her back and gives more room between us where the standard one did not

There is no comparison ... The Honda will afford much more passenger comfort ... That should be pretty obvious simply looking at the bikes.

The seat on the Ultra is higher and lot wider . I just put a 2014 RK seat on my Ultra.
