If you look back at my pictures, the controls are clearly not covered up.

Default Chrome and Stainless Steel Drink Holder

You might also like the Roadrunner Drink Holder. It's available with either an insulated travel mug or an insert that holds water and pop bottles (or you can get both). Lots of mounting options: on the switch housing, handlebar, even windshield brace. http://www.leadermotorcycle.com/CTGY/drink.html

I use the Kruzer Cup holder on the left handlebar. Very easy to remove and works well.

300 mile round trip, all interstate from WB to Syracuse and back yesterday, and the Claw didn't budge or drop my water bottle. Mounted it on the engine guard on the left side.
Anyone have this Bear Claw on their 14 Limited? If so, how about a photo. Thanks

Yup. I got the black basket model. Sometimes you don't even see it there. I love it even more now cause in addition to the bottle and thermos it comes with, when I use the foam insert I can also carry my favorite contigo auto seal coffee mug in there when I want a hot coffee. The HT will also take many large (1 liter) hydration bottles made by camelback and the like. Something you cannot do with other cup holders.

I have only used it around town so far but I love it. I also have a HD insulated cup that I put ice and water in and the other day. Went for about a 45 minute ride, drank all the water but still had some ice left. I really like that it's totally out of the way and not on my bars.

Default Cupholder

Just put the Kuryakyn Universal Cup Holder on my '14 FLHTK. It attaches to the clutch/brake perches. Good quality, saved $11 by ordering from Amazon. Sits at kind of a jaunty angle compared to the $100 BMW Cup Holder on my K12LT (got spoiled by that one!). I think I can get used to it, came with a stainless thermal cup. Looked at the Kruzer Caddy, but didn't think it would work with the hard brake/hydraulic lines. Good Luck!
