I've never seen a HD wheel clear coated...

I took Wenol to the rims on my 2011 FLTRU and they came out really nice.

I stick to just soap and water for the wheels. I did wax the front wheel once to try and cut down on the brake dust that sticks to it but I couldn't tell a difference.

Try a small area with aluminum polish, if the polish starts to turn black when you rub it in then it is not clear coated, if the polish stays white then it is. That is just an easy way to tell.

I don't believe that they are as others have stated. I do know however what ever they do use as a finish is very easily stained. Even when changing tires if they do not remove the fluid off to ease tire install quickly, it can stain the wheel. I would be careful using anything but soap and water on them.

Thanks for the info guys. I've only used soap and water so far. Although I did spray some harley gloss on a rag and wiped them down. They looked pretty good. But it looks like they are still light water spots on them. Any ideas on that?

Like I said, they tend to spot and can easily be stained... All HD Aluminum wheels do it.. Be Careful!!!
