Default RUSH Big Louie's

Just installed a set of Rush Big Louie slash down mufflers with 2.00 baffles on my 2014 Road King with de catted stock head pipe. Love the sound. Deep rumble and not too loud. Road about 90 miles with them and so far I'm very pleased.

Rode.

I have Big Louie slash-ups, and I have both 2.5" and 2.0" baffles, backing Rush True Duals.

With miles on both sets of baffles, I prefer the 2.5". It is a bit louder, but I REALLY like the sound, ESPECIALLY at idle.

I may go to a larger baffle once I get used to these. Quite a difference from the stock mufflers I had but maybe I could stand a little louder.

I have the Big Louie with chrome tips. I have the 2.1/2" with the stock cat, not real loud, but I love the sound.
Next Summer I will do a FM head pipe and air kit and tuner, then I will find out how loud they are. If it's to much I might go down to the 2 or 2 1/4" baffle.
I'm not real happy with the quality of the chrome tip's, but I haven't contacted Rush about it yet so I cant say much. I do love the tone they make on the highway.

I put them on my 2011 Ultra with stock catted pipes and loved em.. 65K when I traded it in for a 14, I kept them and put em on the new bike. Sounds even better with the 103.

I am running the Louies with the 3" baffles to match the stock headers. The sound is deep and reasonably loud and proud but not obnoxious. I think 2 1/2" is as large as you can go with open head pipes. The good things about Rush are the baffle choices and the exhaust note. The not-so-good thing is the chrome. I recently polished mine and it left dull scratches. I used the same stuff I've used on many other chrome exhausts, shields and other parts with no ill effects.

I "polish" my pipes with 0000 steel wool and Windex.

I've run RUSH pipes on my last 5 Harleys, with zero issues with the chrome, and have been using steel wool for years.

You may have a point, on my 11 King I had Bassani megaphone with tips never any kind of problem with them, BUT now that I think about it they was billet aluminum not chrome. Glade you posted.
