Default Footpef circlips

Anybody have a thought on best way to get the footpeg circlip off w/o tearing them up? My circlip plier ends seem just a little large for the holes. Got one side off but the other doesn't seem to want to spread to remove. Thanks.

I'd never use a screwdriver on circlips, way too much chance of screwing them up. Get yourself some snap ring pliers. Harbor freight sells small cheap ones the work perfectly on those. The right tool for the job is ALWAYS best.

If they are E clips or C clips a screw driver in the recess of the E clip or a large flat blade pushing on both ends of the C clip is the perfect tool and screws up nothing - if the ends have holes or notches then yes, circlip pliers is the way to go.

Rip em off and replace them with an allen bolt and a nylock nut.

Thanks. The ends have holes but they are too small for my current clip pliers. I would say the circlip might be 1/2" or a little more around.
