Default Vance&Hines Dresser Duals vs. Power Duals

I am looking to purchase Vance & Hines Headers (plus slip-ons)...

What if any are the differences in the two Dual systems?
Are there noticeable performance differences?

Also... Air Intakes... I plan on doing the Air Intake at the same time.
Should I go with Vance and Hines Stage 1 or use the HD Screaming Eagle.

Thanks for any advice.

One is a 2/1/2 system the other is a true dual system. A touch more tq with the PD, sound and looks go to the DD system IMO.

Agree 100%. If you get true duals you will loose low end power. True duals only make sense on a engine that has been stroked with cams.

Not sure what the V&H headers cost but I bought my headers from fullsac performance and could not be happier. I added a set of RC components 4" slip ons and the sound is truly epic.

Go with the dresser duals me and two others had problems with the power duals either cracking or leaking at the x welds. Even though V&H exchanged them they still had to be installed. As for stage 1 Its a toss up. I'd stick to Harley.

The last bike i had, i had a carb, and straight pipes, so i wasn't familiar with New systems.

So i asked the service manager and a parts guy and they said, go with V and H headers and slip ons, don't get the SE fancy intake. They said i would get more power from the Power Duals, SE tune, and the stock air intake, with the stage 1 filter.

I saw a couple of bikes, the guys started them for me and i liked the sound and what they had to say. The parts and service manager could have said buy the SE intake but they didn't so, that is what i got with the tune and dyno.

The bike makes good power, is smooth, great mileage, and sounds good, totally happy.

This is what it looks like:

The power duals gives almost the performance of a 2 into 1 but the look of a second pipe. There is an actual chamber under the shields, it's not just an X pipe. They sound really good and even better if you get the mufflers that suit you.

The service guy and my sales guy pointed me to the PDs and I've never had a reason to use anything else (on my 3rd set).

I have no experience in true duals.

Here's how they look in black.

This thread has turned into a bike **** thread. Mmm bike ****.

i had V&H true duals on my 2010 Tk, and I loved them, with LOUD mufflers they sounded great.

everyone says you lose low end though, so i stayed with a 2-1-2 on the new bike.
but I never noticed anything lacking on my 2010, it was a hoss.

if you can lose a bit of HP bragging rights for that awesome sound, go for true duals!

Sorry to say but that doesn't look like stock intake to me.

That is definitely the stock intake, but had the 103 insert replaced with the SE after the tune. If it looks any different other than that then it might be the angle etc.
