Huh?

I go over to the NY state side to GET AWAY from all the traffic in Connecticut.

No cars, few stop signs, fewer traffic lights. Try Rt. 22 above Millerton or Rt. 82 north from Rt. 55.

You ain't ridin' the right roads!

Agreed...its really quiet up there north of Millerton.

That spot is beautiful, Curlybill. Here is a panoramic shot.

Nice. And in the fall, when the trees are changing color it is even nicer.

IDK guys. On weekends CT is crazy with traffic but during the week when I ride mostly up that away its mellow. NY I have found is loaded with dump trucks and even Tractor trailers

+1 22 from Amenia south tractor trailers hauling gravel dumping as they go along... plus the NYSP hiding waiting to pull you over ... Millerton north is scenic but the road is pretty rough in spots..

MadIrish wrote above regarding the pulloff on Rt. 22 n. of Millerton:

Next time you go up that way, go riding on the -other side- of that same valley. You can find that road at Cumberland Farms in Millerton.

Have you ever taken the back way over the mountain (by Bash Bish Falls) into Massachusetts? Comes out near Egremont. Beautiful 'way up there.

Then take Rt. 41 south to Sharon, or keep going right down to Hitchcock Corners at the CT line.

Or go over Skiff Mountain by the Kent School stables....

almost got whacked by a black bear on rt 8 just north of Watertown Sunday. Sprinted across the road not 30 feet in front of me and ran the median strip for about 50 yards

Be careful out there guys

Rt 7 is paved and patched. Just needs some finishing touches. Let's ride.
