Looks like spring is about to happen. Near 50° all week then rain on Saturday. Should melt the snow and ice covered tundra that is my yard. Then some up and down temps. then 50 again.

Several bikes passed by my house today. But the salt haze is in the air. I think I will be waiting for a good rain before going out for the first ride of the season.

Was gonna change the oil and filter this week. Watched the weather on the news and 30's with snow mix for weekend. Might as well leave my bike covered. Maybe next week.

At the end of this season change it again, imho it is better for the gaskets and internal moving parts to be sitting in fresh oil for extended periods of time than old oil ran through from the preceding season. (It is believed that the old oil picks up a corrosive ph level for lack of a better term.)

I would guess that sitting in the garage for several months, all that gunk would drip down into the pan with all that fresh clean oil. When you make the first start of the season, all that gunk goes back into the engine. I would rather drain out all that gunk and old oil and fire her up clean and fresh.
