Parking for trucks and motorcycle trailers Portland Maine.
June of 2015 some friends and I plan to tow several trucks and motorcycle trailers to Portland. Leave trailers and trucks in Portland then take the bikes on the Ferry to Nova Scotia.
Need suggestions on where to park trucks and trailers for 8 to 10 days.

1. If staying at a hotel, call the hotel ahead of time and see if they're willing
2. Call RV campgrounds in the area and see if they're willing
3. Call secure (fenced/gated) storage facilities in the area and see if they're willing
4. Search the local Craigslist for parking/storage options

We stayed at a hotel in Scarborough (7 miles from Portland) when we went to NS. They let us leave two trailers and 3 trucks in their lot for the 5 days we were gone. We did stay at the hotel one night when we got back.
Are you taking 'The Cat' to Nova Scotia? They shut that down a couple of years ago, is it running again?

Just looked it up on the 'net. They started running a ferry in May of 2014. Not 'The Cat' but apparently there's a ferry running from Portland again.
I don't know how fast this new ferry is but 'The Cat' was a 50 mph catamaran and it took 5 hours to get to Yarmouth.

Thanks, I will check that out. The new ferry is run by novastarcruises. It is a 10 hour crossing and they have cabins like a cruise ship. Really nice looking ship with restaurants, gambling ect.
