The guy in the fast lane doing 65 in a 65 mph zone is the most dangerous....
Especially when I close up on him doing 85.I know in other parts of the country, the "Keep right except when passing" deal is posted. It AIN'T posted in New York, but it damn sure should be.It isnt the Mexicans here, its these guys

25 year LEO. Slow drivers are only a danger to fast drivers.

It is against the law to go slow and hold up traffic most areas.

id have to say, i am amazed. i think you are the first person i have ever seen on a forum, who actually has a clue, when it comes to driving speed.

i really hate the propaganda that "speed kills". i can say with complete confidence, that speeding has never ever caused an accident. it can certainly influence the severity of an accident, but the accident still occurs because the driver wasnt keeping his/her mind on the task.

Having been a driver for UPS for 15 years and a DTS driver trainer I have many years of experience with all types of drivers. A driver going slower than the traffic is a very dangerous hazard. Granted the traffic is proably going faster than the speed limit, but you have to keep up with traffic, if not you become a hazard. On the other end is the speeding driver. He is just as dangerous as the slow driver. And yes, the driver who plants himself in the left lane and stays there going the speed limit is a BIG danger. Here in Pennsylvania you can not travel in the left lane for more than 2 miles unless you are passing someone.

I think that slow drivers are mainly just a BIG PITA, not so dangerous as a "speed freak". Even a "speed freak" is not nearley as dangerous as a phone texter/game player!....... JMHO though.

I'll still stick with NO because I don't think you have a valid defense, when you cause or have an accident because of a slow driver.

I admit I can't stand them on the road and it takes much more effort to follow them than a driver thats going with the flow and a reasonable speed, which is not always the speed limit.

Try living here the highest speed limit is 50 and plenty of 25 mph limits. Imagine getting behind a driver that sticks to 25mph its freaking painfull.
Dunno where you were a LEO at, but several states have an "impeding the flow of traffic" law that us for just exactly that purpose.

The #1 distraction while driving is not cell phones or texting while driving. It is eating in your car while driving.!!!!!!!!!!!

Eating while driving behind 80pct car accidents in US
July 20, 2009 Thaindian News

New York, July 20 (ANI): Eating and/or drinking while driving has been blamed for 80 percent of car accidents in the US, according to a new study.

The study conducted by National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has shown that about 80pct of the car accidents, and 65pct of near misses, were caused by drivers more focused on their burgers than the road.

“Distractions like eating can become a problem for drivers who can’t react quickly to a sharp curve,” the New York Daily News quoted the study report as saying.

Based on the responses of car drivers, the researchers have ranked the worst foods to eat behind the wheel.

They found drinking coffee while behind the wheel to be the worst.

“Even with a travel lid, hot coffee can find its way out of the opening when you hit a bump,” the study said.

The list also included soup, tacos, chili dogs, hamburgers, ribs and wings, fried chicken, jelly doughnuts, soda, and chocolate.

Another study of 1,000 drivers, led by ExxonMobil Corp. showed that more than 70pct of drivers ate, and 83pct drank beverages, while driving. (ANI)

Really impedes normal traffic and a total pain.
Same thing here in Phoenix area.
