Hated or Respected
Why is it that i don't care if i'm hated but it bothers me if i'm not respected? I tend not to give a **** if someone hates me, however it I feel someone is not respecting me it bothers the F-ck out of me..
Thoughts?

In general. I don't expect "respect" for nothing. However, disrespecting is a different matter. How someone treats you. there is a difference between dislike and disrespect.

hate is just a feeling disrespect is an action. and every action has a reaction. A stranger can`t really hate ya for who ya are unless they are just an asshat but a stranger can disrespect ya, It don`t bother me to much no more, just a little, I got sick of givin up my freedom to shut em up, can`t fix stupid. hahahahaha

Hate comes from comtempt, which one just aquires from acting like a a-hole for a long time. Respect is earned over a long time, from doing what is right but not easy. Simple. There is a big middle ground between the two. Someone may just not give a **** about you either why. If you're paranoid about what others think about you, you could misinterpet their indifference as a lack of respect.
But then there are those people that go out of their way to show disrespect to someone, of no reason at all, other than they want to see if they can get away with it. I guess it makes them feel tough. It makes them look like jerks.

Step away from the keyboard!
Hmm, I would guess that you have less than perfect riding weather right now in Alberta. If you can just hang in there until it warms up a bit, you can get out and ride. Best therapy there is. Then these concerns about respect will be "in the breeze," as they say.

I'm not liked generally but I really don't f***ing care! But I have to agree with you. Disrespect is a whole other matter. When in a sticky situation where I feel it's leading towards disrespect with another person I normally lean towards demeaning comments and I can get downright insulting to a person if I think they're going to try to cross that line with me. I'd rather have someone hate my guts than have them try to chit down my throat!
