Not the same additive package in the Citgo 20w50. Somebody did a comparison VOA but I can't find it.

 

so, what i'm reading, by using , say, castrol synthetic, so we aren't thinking with our dipstick jimmy, car oil would work out well for our harley motors? just that i think that motorcycle oil is very pricey in comparison, and if there is no significant difference, then i'd much rather go to walmart and get a 5 quart of mobil 1 for twenty two bux, verses giving over ten bux a quart for royal purple. and i am currently thinking very seriously about changing over to shell rotella synthetic. available at walmarts, farm and ranch stores, and truck stops all over the place. just would like to find a suitable alternative to something that comes in a bottle that says, "for motorcycle use" are we supposed to believe this, or is it a way for the sellers of the oils to make a huge difference in money from us? very curious indeed.

 

I run kendal 20w50 bike oil. I called Conaco kendal, they said not a lot of differance between regular and bike oil. Only make sure it is maso for wet clutch if neeeded

 

Atf typ fa for wet clutch or not ? Nappa baby get the good stuff.

 

So if you want to support Hugo Chavez buy HD oil and the money will go to Citgo, the Venezuelan government's Texas-based oil subsidiary. I won't buy Citgo gas or oil!

 

Ouach !!! I've tested this CITGO oil and it's crap.
$2.49 a quart ? cheap stuff!

 

Ran Citgo oil in My car to 157.000 miles with no problems.Syn3 is good oil or Harley would not approve.I know a few of Their engineers and They are very intelligent.It is Your option to use what You feel is best for Your motorcycle.

I don't know if were all nuts with the oil, I know I get carried away with it all the time as to change all 3 fluid every 1500 miles with synthetic, which is probably over kill. From what little I under stand oil provides lubrication, cleans the engine, keep it running cooler (synthetic) and as to what I've experienced the synthetics oil's give me a lot more valve train, primary, and tranny noise when they get hot at 80 mph. Just for giggles I might go with a high quality 20-60 regular engine, 20-50 primary and 75-140 tranny to see if there is a difference. Is anybody running straight oil any more?
