Default Draining oil cooler when changing oil

Was wondering if its worth removing the cooler and lines to drain them when I change the oil.. Don't think there would be more than 1/3 or 1/2 cup there..

There is quite a bit of stained oil in many places in a Harley motor. They run with close to 20 ozs. in the sump. What lubricates the inner cam bearings. It's all filtered. No big deal. Just replace it to the owners manual recommendation and you will be more then safe. I base this on 50 years of working on motors.

Only if you're completely **** about your bike! LOL There's not enough there to make any difference one way or another.

The only bike I have ever owned with an oil cooler was a new BSA Rocket 3 and, yes, I disconnected and drained the cooler. As when changing the oil filter, you should run the bike long enough for the oil level to steady, then top up if necessary, to compensate for the oil that has refilled the filter and cooler.
