Mobil 1 V-Twin Synthetic
Not trying to start an unnecessary debate here.
Anyone used the Mobil 1 Synthetic in all 3 holes and didn't like the results? I need to do an oil change really soon and I'm debating if I should try Mobil 1 synthetic vs. HD Synthetic.
What I'm wondering is, how superior (if at all, HD's synthetic is to Mobil 1).
Thanks!

As far as top end noise, nothing I've tried is worse, & I've tried a lot.

Best there is for all three, IMHO.
I used to stock up on it when I found it on sale. However, I have been made aware that my "Strategic Oil Reserve" has reached maximum allowed capacity, and I must pull down the reserve before acquiring any more.
I like that it is easily found, and that most of my stock was less than $7 per quart.
I use Mobil 1 Synthetics in all my engines. The 15 w 40 Turbo Diesel Syn Oil is great for small air cooled motors that call for 30 wt. too.
I am sold on it.

Based on tons of research years ago I decided to use Mobil 1 in all three but different weighs: 15W50 in the engine, 10W40 MC oil in the Primary and 75W90 in the trans. Shifts pretty smooth... Engine sounds normal... Clutch works great. Over 25000 miles with no issues.
IMHO it would be fine to use the 20W50 in all three. You can always change to something else at the next change if you don't like it.

while M1 is a good oil, some have mixed reviews.
i personally will not run it except in last case choice. i will run syn3 before M1.
i have multiple harleys and each engine, trans and primary likes different oil.
for example my 120R likes brad penn in the engine, bel ray gear oil in the trans and atf in the primary
my oldest bike, likes Ansoil in the engine, formula plus in the primary and spectro platium 6 in the trans.
my daily rider during the work week, likes straight 40 wt oil in the primary, automotive synethic gear oil in the trans and castrol vtwin synthetic in the engine.
ive tried multiple oils and these bikes perform best when they find their unique mix.
m1 does not seem yo hold up well for me, so i don't run it.

Yes you can. M1 is a good product as are many. Transmission likely a reasonable gear lube would server you better in the long run.
Contrary to what some seem to think thick/heavier is not really better. Gear lubes and engine oil have the viscosity figured different so there is little difference in 20/25 and 75/90.
If you use engine oil in trans just change it more often than 20K.
Get out and ride the bike is not that fussy about oil and lube.
