Welcome to the forum!! I would recommend you use a Harley Davidson filter because of the fact that they are rated for5 micron filtration level and low pressure restriction and have an ADBV. The puralator may not be rated the same and could restrict oil flow and damage your engine. Be certain if you do use a substitue brand it meets the HD spec.

Welcome here.

Why a Purolator? What's wrong with a 7 buck black HD filter?

reading a thread on another forum and someone showed a chart comparing different oil filters and purolator had the most sq/in. of filter media which I believe was capable of 10 micron filtration? Anyways I might just stick with the HD filter. Thanks.

I have friends who swear by the premium version of the Purilator, the "PURE ONE".I found that I couldn't get it locally like they can and just use the black HD one. At the point of splitting hairs between good filters, as long as they meet the required specs, we obsess , IMHO.
