Mobil 1 75 w 90?
I am thinking about going to this oil in the tranny. Is this a synthetic oil? I also am thinking of going to the mobil 1 v twin 20 w 50 in the engine and primary drive. How have these oils worked for you guys? Thanks

RE: Mobil 1 75 w 90?
Ive tried several gear oils in the tranny........Syn3, BelRay, Redline and Mobile 1 75/90. For mine, Mobile 1 worked the best, shifting is now click click, instead of klunk. The others are good produtcs...I personally dont think syn3 is heavy enough for the tranny. But Im sticking with Mobile 1.
Good luck with your decision...............post your findings for others to study. Just fyi.... I kept HD Formula + in the primary.

Once you use a gear oil in the trans...you won't go back to motor oil in there. Any of the gear oils that meet GL5 spec on the label are fine. Mobil1 75w90 is fine. The ones preferred are made by Redline, Amsoil, Mobil1, Royal Purple and BelRay. Lots of good choices.

If you use a 20w 50 oil... gear oil should be 80/90 or 85w/145. That is what the charts show you can see a chart on belrays web site it will show you what you should use.
I hope this helps!!!!!!!!!!

M1 VTWIN 20/50 in engine sny3 is ok but M1 is better
If you have a 6 speed Spectro GL5 for 6 speeds or Red line shock proof heavy
5 speed spectro regualr gear lubes are fine of red line
Next comes royal purle, amsoil or M1
They are all good but in your tranmission no madder what brand use gear oil NOT motor oil
In primary use HD F+ or reuglar motor oils
look here many hour of research done on subject in oils and lube section
backed up by studies.
