I use the rotella conventional in all of my shared sump bikes and in the primary of my Harley. I used it last spring in the engine and with it in the sump I noticed the bike would rev up a bit quicker and the valvetrain wasn't loud. Not like mobil 1,that stuff made my engine sound like a can of marbles bouncing around.
It's a bit thin at operating temp(40vs50) however I doubt very much it will cause any problems. In fact the auto industry is leaning towards thinner oils because they heat up faster and will consume less fuel at start up and during operation due to less drag.
You may see slightly lower oil pressure however the volume is unchanged so again it won't lead to additional wear. In fact because it's thinner at start up it may contribute to less wear.
It's a heavy duty oil and is approved for gasoline engines. You won't have any issues using it during spring and fall,or all year long.

I think the only thing it has going for it is it is cheap at walmart---------and it is in every store it seems---------------top that off with a cool calendar yearly and it should be good ------but it really isn't all that spectacular in anything I have ever used it in .Never tried in my harley but don't feel a need to.I have ran universal petroleums 15-40 and 15-50 because I had it----even ran a oil sample thru their labs and it showed less wear than Harley oil which has to be packaged oil from somebody-------Would be curious to know who packages it for them
Disclaimer---------not bagging on rotella but since the new emissions formula came out it mimics antifreeze in the oil on a oil sample so we quit using it in all of our diesel stuff

Universal in wichita Ks packages both brands last I knew--------------years back when I had a big fleet we got a tote of conoco hydra clear to try for nothing basically .It was a good oil but pricey and I don't care what the quality of the oil is I don't like extended drain intervals just due to the silica that you can't keep out getting into it.
local harley parts man said he doesn't know who had the contract but mentioned all of the above as well as ashland oil -------seems they make John Deere oil to
