What Brand Engine Oil do you use in your bike
#1321
I guess you skipped over where I said how convenient it is for me. Just so you know - I don't pay shipping costs either. It's like when I buy something from Cabela's or any other website - I don't pay shipping if it's shipped too the local store.
And where do you buy it for a better price (not a sale price - every day price)??? I pay $9.56/qt for mine. I did buy some Mobil1 V-Twin oil at Farm & Fleet a few months ago for $5.99/qt. with a rebate. No sales since and that's usually good for one year or something like that. I pay $9.56 every day - no sales to wait for or any limit.
No one cares on why you won't buy it. He asked what oil we use. It's so simple a question.
Yes, you are correct "Let's see what's being used" is the question - NOT why you won't buy so and so oil.
I only mention "why" I buy it after others say why they don't buy it..........Like you just did about shipping costs and buying it cheaper....giving the impression that Amsoil is expensive and hard to find which is not true.
And you've stated too many times why you won't buy it - again and again and again and again - you can't even spell it right....I guess you're trying to be funny.

Just a quick summary of my oil use. Tried Mobil V-Twin and my TC 103 was terribly noisy. Next tried Valvoline VR1 dino oil until I discovered it's not for use with a cat. Put in Valvoline 20-50 motorcycle dino oil and K&N filter and the bike ran quiet. Being concerned about the coming summer heat I put in some Red Line 20-60 full syn. I didn't think I could get a quiet bike on full synthetic but Red Line has proved me wrong, at least the 20-60 has. I am also using a Wix black filter and am very happy with how quiet the engine sounds and my bike is protected for the summer heat. Happy camper.

It's the black Wix filter that did it. LOL
I wear ear plugs while riding so it doesn't matter what oil I use - they all sound quiet to me.
Glad to hear you found an oil that works for you.

Just changed the oil, previous was conv. HD360, put in Mystik Semi Syn 15/50, with a claimed CJ4/SM rating.
Also sending a virgin sample off to Blackstone. Using HD 5 micron oil filter.
Im just curious about this oil. My favorite on past bikes has been the Valvoline 20/50 conv motorcycle oil.

Changing from HD 20-50 to some other brand. Was looking at Mobil 1 but they didnt have staright 50 so I went to VR1 50. Its also about $3 less a qt and I tend to change more frequently so that should save some cash down the road over time. In reading some of the posts Im a bit surprised about so many going synthetic. IDK guess I just cant see using that in a TC PR engine. Anyways hope to reduce valve noice a bit in the process will see.
