What Brand Engine Oil do you use in your bike
#1331
I changed from HD conventional oil to Valvoline conventional oil and will stay with it from now on,it said on the bottle its good for wet clutches so I might start using it for the primary too. The oils at the dealer are just too expensive now and now if I can find a filter cheaper, the last time I checked at O Reillys the Wix filter was 2 dollars more then the dealer.

I prefer conventional 20/50 oils in my Harley engines for several reasons without starting an oil debate about conventional verses synthetic.
I did the same as you and I am liking it so far (Valvoline 4T conventional 20/50 motorcycle oil, cost effective and easy to find). The UOA test I have seen are good on the Valvoline oil in Harley motors and it is again for sure more cost affective than the HD360 oil (I have had no issues with the HD360 other than its refined by Citgo, have used it for years now) I will stay with the Formula + in the primary as it has proven out to be a very good primary fluid. I also use the Spectro Platinum 6 speed 75/140 in the trany ( this stuff is costly but works oh so well in the Harley 6 speed trany).

Not in this area you don't. The Honda, Kawasaki, Yamaha, and HD dealers only carry their brand specific oils, the HD dealer does have Spectro primary and transmission fluids and no one has Amsoil on the shelves, the Kawi dealer told me flat out he hates the stuff. What the dealers stock is called marketing, they sell their specific branded fluids, nothing more to it than that and it has nothing to do with what's a better or more proper oil for a motorcycle. Use their fluids if you want, don't if you don't...
Marketing is a powerful thing and many can't get past it. Rotella T6 is rated as a diesel oil yet it's one of the best oils for sport bikes and metrics I've ever used, great in my truck as well and I've never seen it at any metric dealer, it's JASO-MA rated but most don't actually read labels and realize that The HD manual clearly calls for SAE 50 above 60 degrees so why do people run 20w-50 in hotter weather? Because most dealers don't stock SAE 50 I guess, I run Valvoline VR1 SAE 50 racing oil, uh oh, it says 'racing' on the label and I'm not racing my HD's, it'll never work. Of course it works, and works well, just because a dealer doesn't stock it doesn't suddenly make it a poor oil for use in my HD's.
Oil threads are like religion threads, everyone has their beliefs, use what you want and be happy, I believe it has more to do with your maintenance habits and how frequently you change your oil, not what the brand name on the label says on the bottle you dump in...
