leaking oil

leaking oil
found puddle of oil under bike and when i drained the engine it only had 68 ounces yet when i drained the primary there was 58 ounces in it. is there anyway the engine oil could get in the primary and the excess cause the leak. the only place i know of is thru the crank, but i don't know that much about the oiling system on the twin-cam. shovels and evo's yes.
