Oil Pressure

Oil Pressure
I own a 2011 Electra Glide Ultra Classic. I've notice the last couple of times I've ridden my bike that the Oil Pressure gauge often will read close to 60 psi. It doesn't stay there constantly, it seems to settle around 40-45 psi. According to the owner's manual the pressure reading should be around 30-38 at normal operating temperature. Any thoughts on what could be causing the gauge to indicate such a high pressure (I realize gauges are not always accurate - but the gauge has never registered this high). What are the ill effects of such a high reading - what does it indicate if it is actually this high?
Thanks!

Pressure is higher after starting, as the oil is cold. As it gets hotter the pressure settles down. You're close enough with the numbers you quote - don't get hung up about it. My favourite indy reckons oil pressure gauges cause more trouble than they are worth, so ignore it and enjoy the ride. Too much info is a bad thing.....
