$5.99 oil filter wrench
I picked this up at my local O'Reilly auto parts. Perfect fit, good price, works with either a 3/8" ratchet or 1" box wrench.
FYI.
Edit - and never mind. Fits the filter fine, but not enough clearance between the filter and the block, and it won't slip onto the end of the filter currently in place.

Yep,
Did the same thing. I use one of the straps currently, but I am going to get the HD filter wrench. It is the exact same as what you have there, it is just cut out for the screws that you encounter.
I think you can pick one up at your local Harley dealer for about 10 bucks. Definitely worth it.
