I made a puck out of an old filter and used a brass fitting with a clear hose.

It costs you about a QT of oil every time you use it. I do all my own maintenance on my bike and could give a shiiizzz less what others think. I like knowing the life blood of my engine is clean and free of contaminated old broke down oil. I run 5k plus between services running Mobil one. I just put a set cams in and when I was pressing the new cam bearing in I noticed the cases were spotless at 30k

I use the Rogue kit, and it does what it claims to do. I get at least 2/3'rds of a 2-liter bottle of black, contaminated oil out of the engine after a traditional drain. I like changing ALL the oil in one fell swoop. You wouldn't take a bath with 80% fresh water and 20% from the previous bath.

As others have pointed out, countless bikes have gone millions of trouble-free miles without the benefit of oil scavenging. So it's probably just a 'peace of mind' thing, for ****-retentive enthusiasts like myself.
