Default Depends What Food You Put It On

To quote from a semi government website
"The Canadian Government not only restricts the use of pepper spray, but also restricts the usage of similar self defense products like mace and tear gas. Pepper spray in Canada is prohibited but the Government is considerate enough to let the public use pepper spray as a dog repellent and a bear spray."
In Canada only police officers can carry restricted weapons or things considered to be restricted like pepper spray. But if you have dog repellent and/or bear spray - and it is labelled as such, you do not have a problem. If you use it on a person however, you may be liable for criminal charges if it is deemed that the use of it was excessive.
But always remember the old addage - Better to be judged by twelve than carried by six!
