Incoming to Washington
Looks like I will be moving to everett WA area march/april-ish of next year. I have been stationed in Japan for the last 3 years and was trying to go home to SoCal. Navy says no. what is the riding like and what can I expect for road conditions. being from socal, I was used to being able to ride year round. I know that's not what I'll get up north, but just looking for some insight. Thanks in advance all.

Hello Danny,
I live in Seattle about 50 miles south of Everett. Are you being stationed on a ship or shore duty ? The base is pretty small, and the main Exchange and commissary are located at Smokey Point approx.15 miles north of the base. As for the riding weather it usually rains off and on from September to late spring. A rain suit is a necessity. Winters are usually pretty mild, and you can get a few rides in occasionally. It's a lot like the weather in Tokyo. The riding is spectacular once you get out of the city. You can ride in eastern WA where it is hot & flat or ride in the western part where it is mountainous or to the coast. You will never get tired of the riding here.
Hope this helps you, and welcome to Washington.

Better then Japan!! LOL. Allot of good riding here in the PNW and it is not far from your home in CA. I have put over 500 miles on the bike in the last 5 days. When the weather is nice give no excuse. We have allot of nice days here. Shoot, it rained more in Hawaii when I was stationed there.
