I thought I'd throw this out to see if there is anyone trying to decide to go or if there is an organizational forum somewhere here concerning Sturgis 2014.

I don't think it's too soon to talk about. Nobody I ride with has shown much interest so far.

My initial thought was to take three or four days to get there via I84 through Boise, Idaho Falls, Yellowstone, Sheridan and then to Sturgis for a day or two and head back...or stay...or whatever.

Thoughts?

Who's going and what's your story?

Anybody taken the Puget Sound to I84 East route?

 

Sasquatch2727 I've never been but have thought about it. It would be a long ride if I made it on my Sportster but I'm hoping to upgrade sometime soon to a Street Glide. Making a trip there would be awesome but I'm currently unemployed at the moment and the thought is still up in the air for me. I see you're a Marine. Did you retire?

Hey Robert, I just thought there might be more of a discussion here on the topic of riding from here to Sturgis. At this point, June, it isn't that far off.

I'm guessing that folks have their battle plans made and aren't worrying about a discussion on a forum. No problem!

No, I didn't retire from the Corps. 4 years was quite long enough for me!

Thank you for your service! It's definitely not for everyone. I did 20yrs in the Navy and felt that was more than enough. I'd love to do the Sturgis thing but probably not this year. There's got to be someone from the PNW who's going.

 

Four years here as well at the MCAGCC, 29 Palms way back in the 80s.

I wish I could take the time off to ride to Sturgis and back but no can do this year.

 

Ha! I've got the time! I'm laid off currently and looking for work. It's just a matter of money at this point. Thank God for my retirement or I'd be up ****'s creek w/ out a paddle! I need a better bike to ride that far. My Sporty would kill me.

 

I am going this year. Leaving the south sound the week prior to get some rides in and stay at the rally a few days and heading home. I just left the Army after 21 years. I have the summer off until August 11th. I am going alone unless I find someone to roll with.
