Default I need help starting my pan!

Hello to other Pan members, the last time I rode my 51 pan was on Thanksgiving of 07, and now the weather is warming up it's time to ride again. Here's my problem. I can't get it to kick over, battery is good, spark plugs are good, no air in the fuel line, then I tried to push start it several times, still no go, then I gave up and oil started coming out of the air breather? any suggestions? Thanks in advance for any help..........

Are you breathing the engine into the back of the air cleaner? Is the breather hose off the motor running to the air cleaner

Start of with fresh gas, make sure that indeed your battery is charged, clean up the points or make sure they arent stuck.Oil coming out breather is common and not a big concern as long as it stops shortly after bike starts. Those check valves dont seal real well in some bikes and replacing ball and lapping seat doesnt always work a 100%.Just double check fluid levels after its done puking.Starting fluid is an option but dont go to crazy.Old fuel has a way of clogging carbs and todays fuels just dont light off real well once a few months old.Not sure where you store bike but mice like wiring.Just a thought.

Huh???; This is a 51 Pan not an EVO. He may have intake leaks at the plumber nuts and a Linkert carb to contend with. There souldn't be any hoses to the back of the air cleraner. A pan breaths into the primary, there are no hoses, on a Pan there are "lines".

If you have the original carb take the bowl off and see what condition the float is in. It may be all chewed up and youl need one of Cottens floats.
