Default 1960 Stock pan S&S Main jet

Got a Super E on 74" all stock now. I know it's not the best carb for the motor but it's what I have right now. I have seen a couple other people running this card. What size main jet are you guys running. It had a 70 in it but I think it is way to big.

I'm running a .068 main and a .0295 in the idle tube.

IMHO you actaully running a decent set up (with the jetting change as mentioned). Running a B carb on my brother-in-laws and it works well. The E is just an updated b with an accelerator pump to eliminate the flat spot on the B models. And the S&S b is nothing but an improved version of a Linkert and has about as many moving parts.

Folks with pans run other types but it seems to be personal preference unless you get into strokers and high performance types. properly tuned they are easy to kick and will run problem free.

I am changing to the 68. I put it in and started it but haven't ran around yet. Float is set up right and have .295 intermediate. No rain this weekend I will know better. May have some points issue that I will address next. Thanks for the help guys.

Wasn't the jetting. The mechanical advance was frozen with corrosion and was not advancing at all. Fixed that and runs great. I did jet it down to a 68 and now it's actually a little lean. Going back to 70 or 72 and see what happens.
