Noob question.

I'm scoping Softail Deluxe but may not be able to find dual-tone color that I want.

Thoughts on buying any color and having it repainted?

How much something like that would run?

There's a huge range. I had a guy quote me $1k for my entire EG, if I removed everything.

But I have also heard of $2-3K as pretty typical.

Just depends on who is doing it.

 

A factory style repaint, with the sorts of colours they use, will probably be pretty expensive, simply due to the cost of the paint. I strongly recommend you find a local paint shop or two and talk to them. It will certainly cost a lot more than looking around for a bike in the factory colours you want, or being happy with a good bike in a different colour scheme! Joe of The Powder Pro (look at the top post in this section!) can probably give you a ball-park figure.

 

I have had quotes from $950.00 to $2000.00 for my RK if I strip the bike and deliver the parts. The lower end quote could not tell me exactly what brand paint he was going to use and the upper end was going to use HOK. Paint prices alone for 3 color scheme was $700 for PPG and $580.00 for HOK. I haven't painted in a long time, but at those prices decided to do it myself.
