well they can be powder coated if you can strip them down, remove the seals, remove the oil, and then rev the process for assembly, our shop is just not equipt to do this. If i was you i would scuff them (or strip them completely down) primer and hit them with some single stage (i used dupont single stage black cause after it is buffed it is almost a spot on match to my gloss black)... that is what i did on my current air shocks as well as my old st glide air shocks
