Default Powdercoat HELP! Did I get ripped off?

Hey everyone, new to the forums here so bear with me. I took a bunch of parts to the powdercoater today to have them done gloss black. I've never had anything powder coated before, so I don't know much about pricing. I chose this particular shop because they do beautiful work and have an expansive portfolio, they also do alot of the bikes in my area, so these parts are nothing new for them. My question is about the pricing, I was told it was going to be about $375 to do it all and I agreed to it. Most of the parts were chrome, so I know there's a little more prep work involved, but I'm just wondering if this is a fair price. Here's a list of what I took them, and also a picture. Any helpful input from the pros would be appreciated, not looking for answers like "Yes you got ripped off". Thanks Guys

I personally have never payed to have anything powdered because I am lucky enough to have a line at work but just my opinion that is a lot of parts they have to eat too so I wouldn't say that is to much money as long as you are happy with the end result. Look them over carefully when you pick them up make sure the finish is even no extra powder on the edges or light coverage on the inside corners.

If your not buddies with them, then I would consider it a fair price. There is actually less prep with chrome as they " more than likely just scuff the chrome" clean, and coat. You did fine.. Nothing to be upset over.... As long as the quality is good

I contacted a guy on instagram who had the same parts done, by the same guys and he is extremely happy with the way they turned out. He sent me
Some pics and everything looks very smooth, no orange peel or anything. Like I said, just didn't know what fair prices were, thanks fellas for making me feel a little better, will post pics of the end results in two weeks!

Very fair price considering small parts like that can be a real pain.

Based on what I've paid for gloss black powder coating, that price seams reasonable to me. Especially if they turn out good. It could be worse but depending on how they do things they probably have a lot less prep to do then one might think. Like someone else said, I highly doubt that all your chrome parts will be stripped down to the bare metal. Any shops I've dealt with will coat directly over chrome as long as the chrome is not pitting, peeling or cracking. They just blast it lightly to give it a bit of a tooth for the powder to stick to. And before any "pros" scream about how that is no good, I've got parts that I've had done that way for over six years and ran them for over 50K miles and they look as good, if not better than something powder coated from the factory.

The handlebars might be the only thing they strip to the metal given that they are already powder coated.

Bottom line, I think you could have done much worse.

I take it I am the "pro's" this is leaning on... putting a profile on good quality chrome is the 100% a acceptable way to do this, good chrome can make a great base if properly prepped, shitty, flakey, pitted chrome however has to be removed
