Default Powdercoating Questions

I have chrome rocker boxes, primary cover, cam cover and tranny cover that I'm going to powdercoat.

I have a couple questions:

1. When sandblasting the chrome off, do I have to worry about messing up the gasket surface?

2. Is it possible to warp the covers during the baking process?

The guy that's coating them is very good(he did all my chrome accessories already) but doesn't have any experience with the motor parts. So I want to clarify these things before I drop the parts off.

Thanks,

TF

You would be better off picking up a take off set of polished aluminum and having those done. Then sell your chrome ones.

Harley powder coats the black and silver ones and bakes them so they can take the heat.

****, too late. After waiting for some responses I decided to just take the plunge and drop em off. Good idea, though.
