Default Fat Boy wheels - paint or bedliner?

Been slowly blacking out my '97 Fat Boy. I'm due for a tire change so I figure it's time to do the wheels.

Torn between going with high-heat engine paint or bedliner. The engine paint has held up great on the parts I did last spring. But since the wheels are textured anyway, I wonder if bedliner would hold up even better.

Is that a crazy idea?

Wouldn't the bedliner make the wheels really heavy?

You know, I hadn't considered that. I'm not sure...but the last thing a Fat Boy needs is more weight.

Powdercoating is what you need to do.

Probably true. I've just been keeping this project on the cheap and have been happy with the results so far.

I was thinking when I do a repaint, to paint the insides of the thunderstar wheels but leave the surface area polished. Just the rough part. Kinda 60s looking.

If they are the solid flat ones I would drill holes systematically to give it a cooler pattern than the stock drilled ones.

Powdercoat if far cheaper than paint - maybe not a rattle-can job, but pro.
I'd be surprised if would cost more than $150 for both wheels.

The year after I bought my Slim I tore it down that winter and had the front end, [3] light visors, risers, clutch and brake levers, primary, clutch and tranny covers and heads done for around $250...
