Preparing engine for new paint
Has anyone ever prepped an engine for paint using brake clean, or lacquer thinner? Have the engine out of the frame and degreased. Just looking for final preperation.

Looks sweet! The motor is fresh, there residual oil from the rebuild. I was thinking brake clean and compressed air as a final prep. Thanks.

Brake clean
Most brake clean has an petroleum base that will posably effect your paint finish.

Dawn dish soap, parts brush, and hot water. Rinse, dry, paint.
